Tax Manager to join the team. You have the opportunity to make a
significant impact on our clients and our communities!WHAT YOU'LL
DO
- Possess thorough knowledge of all facets of the customer's
business to ensure customer understanding of engagement economics
and to provide frequent updates.
- Actively communicate the progress of engagements, problems, and
resolutions to customers.
- Continuously improve specialty area knowledge and educate the
team on new audit practices and processes.
- Manage billable hour budgets and follow up when the team is
over/under to determine the cause.
- Perform technical tax review of assigned tax returns
simultaneously and of varying complexity.
- Research and identify complex tax issues and recommend creative
solutions with the input of key stakeholders.
- Build challenging developmental plans for all team members and
evaluate the results.
- Delegate and manage tax and research assignments to achieve
accurate and efficient product.
- Assume responsibility for and provide direction and coaching to
the tax team.
- Generate new business for the firm through community
involvement, networking, and professional events/committees.
- Develop and sustain excellent customer relationships, owning
the relationship end-to-end.
- Celebrate individual and team accomplishments and be part of
recruiting new and experienced staff.
- Provide effective performance feedback and on-the-job
training.
- Contribute to performance management to help assess readiness
for promotion of staff and senior levels.WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master's degree in
Tax preferred.
- 5+ years of recent accounting firm experience, including
managing multiple tax accounting projects and customer engagements,
directing, scheduling staff, and managing workflow. Additional
industry experience is a plus.
- Significant experience working with all types of entity
taxes.
- CPA certification.
- Ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Travel up to 15% of the time may be required.This job
