is the place for you.Position SummaryCorning's Digital & IT
division is building an AI team that partners with our business
units to create AI products to deliver business value at
scale.Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal data scientist for the D&IT AI
Platform & Products organization, providing subject matter
expertise in the space of data science.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into data science
problems, analyzing complex datasets to inform or make
decisions.
- Apply scientific principles and concepts to support significant
invention, using a range of scientific methodologies.
- Proactively identify opportunities and solutions to
problems.
- Create metrics and measurements to quantify the business impact
of your work.
- Write accurate and clear technical documentation and
reports.
- Communicate the approach and outcomes of models clearly and
effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across a broad range of
functions.
- Participate in business center of excellence projects,
providing data analytics and machine learning support.
- Interface with customers to define project specifications and
improve applicable technologies.
- Work independently or as part of a team on data preparation and
machine learning model development.
- Interpret data analysis results in business context.
- Write and maintain relevant support documentation and mentor
new engineers and scientists.
- Influence multiple teams to build consensus and advise Sr
leadership.
- Evaluate cross-team perspectives and understand interactions
among teams.
- Utilize understanding of business challenges to identify
advantageous solutions.
- Contributions influence technical and business strategy.
- Optimize connected systems using their dynamics.
- Improve work done by others via collaboration or increasing
scientific knowledge.Required Skills:
- Min. 8-10 years' experience in data science or related
field.
- Capable of independently preparing data for machine learning
purposes.
- Deep knowledge of machine learning techniques.
- Background in Time Series, Computer Vision, Natural Language
Processing.
- Practical experience with machine learning frameworks and
libraries.
- Strong mathematical and programming skills using Python.
- Comfortable working with Windows and Linux parallel processing
clusters.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in computer vision and
machine learning.
- Ability to support multiple projects at the same time.Desired
Skills:
- Background in one or more scientific disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to build data analytics solutions.
- A foundation in software design principles.
- Clear dedication to excellence.
- Strong personal motivation and proven ability to embrace
change.
- Experience with AWS Sagemaker & Bedrock a plus.Education
Requirements:Masters/PhD in a quantitative field (CS, CE, ML, OR,
Econ, or related).This position does not support immigration
sponsorship.The range for this position is $146,751.00-$201,783.00
assuming full-time status. Starting pay is dependent on various
