responsible for executing the Financial Intelligence Unit's
strategic transformation and automation plan for anti-money
laundering, economic sanctions and fraud compliance and operational
risk practices. Key responsibilities include working directly or
through compliance officers for the Front Line Units (FLUs) and
Control Functions (CFs) to develop, manage and execute a strategic
roadmap and plan to increase the unit's operational readiness,
reduce friction, mitigate risk and implementation automation
solutions for detection and operations.Responsibilities:
- Advises and directs the development and maintenance of the
global financial crime's transformation roadmap and target state,
coordinating with FLUs and CFs to capture key objectives and
outcomes associated with the roadmap and target state
- Produces and/or oversees financial crimes detection
transformation and automation reporting to Global Compliance &
Operational Risk (GC&OR) Senior Leaders and FLU/CF Senior
Leaders
- Monitors the changes in regulations applicable to Global
Financial Crimes and the use of automation and machine learning
applications, including advising business leaders, directing the
appropriate areas to implement or amend policies, standards,
procedures and/or processes to address regulatory requirements, and
challenging the implementation plan as needed
- Participates in industry forums and monitors emerging
technology applications and software, emerging legislation and
regulation that impacts the use of emerging technology, and key
influencers to identify and mitigate emerging risks associated with
using new technology capabilities
- Evaluates and builds business cases for development and
deployment of new automation solutions, including third party
vendor evaluations
- Oversees automation product development and implementation, and
coordinates integration with standing operating model for detection
and investigations
- Escalates financial crimes related compliance and operational
risks and issues to appropriate governance routines,
management/board level committees
- Identifies, aggregates, reports, escalates, inspects, and
challenges the remediation and thematic analysis of FLU/CF-owned
issues and control enhancements related to financial crimes, and
the targeted use of automation applications
- Reviews and challenges internal and external operational loss
events or inefficiencies across people, procedures and technology,
including the development of remediation plans to strengthen
controls, providing oversight to ensure they are addressed
appropriatelyManagerial Responsibilities:This position may also

work.Experience:
- Financial Crimes Strategy Manager - at least 3-5 years --
ability to clearly write strategy business and technology documents
and plans that connect to annual planning for budgets, model and
analytics development, technology implementation and
sustainment.
- Strong experience and understanding of Transaction
Monitoring/CDD Models and Systems, strong acumen on AML risks and
banking impacts
- Experience with supervising or implementing in-house or third
party vendor automation services (i.e. robotics process automation,
machine learning (supervised and unsupervised))
- Experience is large scale transformation and modernization
efforts at Enterprise, multi jurisdiction level, including
addressing regulatory findings and action items
- Process Engineering and Design experience
- Experience in automating manual processes and good
understanding of technologies that are designed for specific AML
and customer risk rating use cases.Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and related AML
legislationDesired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Experience in financial services and/or a related government
entity
