Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is building the future of rail transportation through advanced, sustainable passenger rail vehicles. We're looking for a Group Lead to manage a team of technicians responsible for validation testing and daily operations in a manufacturing line environment.

This hands-on leadership role is fully embedded on the factory floor. You will coordinate testing activities, ensure the team & vehicle systems meet safety and quality standards, and support troubleshooting during production.

The Group Lead will work closely with engineering, production, and commissioning teams to keep testing on track and drive continuous improvement. Ideal candidates are technically strong, team-focused, enjoy problem solving, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Lead a team of technicians in validation testing during rail car production
• Assign daily tasks based on schedule, readiness, and staffing
• Interpret test procedures and technical documentation to guide accurate execution
• Support troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and software issues
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve issues
• Track test progress, ensure documentation, and escalate delays
• Promote safety, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement

    Physical Demands:
    
    • Ability to stand, walk, and move across the production floor for extended periods
    • Must be able to climb stairs or ladders and reach overhead as needed
    • Lift, carry, or move equipment and materials up to 40 lbs
    • Wear PPE including: safety glasses, gloves, 6-inch steel toe boots, hard hats, safety vests

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $54,100 - $73,200. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
