Job Description:
Lead Manufacturing Engineer
Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer and play a
pivotal role in bridging manufacturing, design engineering,
quality, and customer service. This role focuses on developing
efficient manufacturing methods for intricate machined parts and
assemblies while driving continuous improvement initiatives rooted
in Lean Manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement detailed manufacturing processes and routing
plans to reduce scrap and improve lead times.
Analyze and optimize processes by leveraging product design
knowledge, machining expertise, and supplier collaboration.
Design and apply fixtures and gauges to ensure precision and
consistency in manufactured parts.
Utilize statistical analysis to identify root causes of failures
and implement corrective actions, including design or process
modifications.
Champion Lean Manufacturing projects such as setup time reduction,
5S implementation, and other process improvements.
Review and evaluate designs for manufacturability and provide
feedback to design teams.
Support the selection, purchase, and installation of new
manufacturing equipment.
Lead cross-functional projects, manage project timelines and
budgets, and ensure successful delivery.
Interpret complex part drawings, including GD&T and drafting
standards.
Stay current with manufacturing best practices and technologies
through professional development.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support
staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
At least 3 years of engineering experience in a hands-on
setting.
Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and design tools
such as AutoCAD and Solid Edge.
Strong knowledge of machining processes; experience in high mix,
low volume manufacturing is a plus.
Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and
documents.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in
geometry and trigonometry.
Effective communicator with the ability to write clear reports and
follow technical instructions.
