Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Specialty: Interventional Radiology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week Experience: 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred License: ARRT (R) required Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) required Must-Have: - Experience with strokes and traumas - Ability to take call and respond within 30 minutes - Graduate of an ANA-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or an accredited Radiology Interventional Program Job Description: - Assist in various invasive angio and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite. - Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for total patient care during and after procedures. - Monitor patients in the Interventional Radiology area. - Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under physician direction. - Explain procedures to patients and prepare them accordingly. - Obtain and prepare medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials for administration. - Circulate during procedures and maintain responsibility for patient comfort. - Provide necessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures. - Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamps as required. - Provide necessary information to holding areas or nursing units. - Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges accurately. - Enter patient data and inventory into the WITT program and send films for review. - Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs. Additional Skills/Information: - Must be able to stand and walk while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons. - Exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood is expected. - Work in confined areas requiring normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye-hand coordination. - Constant concentration required during procedures. - Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
