Job SummaryThe CT Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. This role operates CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, including scanner, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment.Key Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
• Properly identifies patients and assists them during procedures, explaining the process and documenting relevant information.
• Interviews patients for a complete medical history, reviewing EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical information.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols, recording contrast type and amount as needed.
• Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if necessary, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images as instructed.
• Performs basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures when necessary.
• Assists Radiologists/PA during invasive procedures, practicing sterile technique and following radiation safety standards.Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, with advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
  • Current CPR certification.Work EnvironmentThis role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, with occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. Radiation safety guidelines must be followed to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
