Overview
Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 for full-time employees, and a relocation bonus of $5,000. Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the optimum planning and treatment of radiation therapy patients with ionizing radiation, in accordance with written directives from Radiation Oncologists, and under the direct supervision of the Chief Therapist.
Key Responsibilities


  • Treat patients with ionizing radiation, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor all equipment parameters, document equipment malfunctions, and understand emergency and safety procedures of all equipment.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment schedules.
  • Input treatment and simulation charge information into Aria.
  • Document patient treatment charts.
  • Understand emergency and fault procedures for linear accelerators and simulators.
  • Recognize and report patient concerns and physical problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate instructions and procedures to patients and their families.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the clinic.

    Requirements
    This position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. You must be able to lift and support 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. You must speak and understand English. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch are required. Finger dexterity and critical thinking skills are also necessary. You must be able to respond quickly and make decisions in response to changes on the unit.
    Education, Experience, and Certifications
    A graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent is required. ARRT registration or eligibility is necessary, with a requirement to pass the registry within the first 90 days of employment. BLS certification is also required per policy guidelines.
