You'll Do:
- Lead Project Excellence: Establish and enforce best practices
and processes in project management to ensure timely delivery,
budget adherence, and quality outcomes across software development
projects, aligning with organizational objectives.
- Preventative Strategy Development: Implement proactive measures
and risk management strategies, including risk identification and
mitigation plans, to address potential issues early, keeping
projects on track and within scope.
- Cohesive Team Leadership: Manage a set of direct reports
involved with project management, fostering collaboration,
providing guidance, and supporting their skill development to
ensure a shared vision across all teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with
internal stakeholders, providing clear communication and updates on
project statuses and performance while ensuring project governance
and defined roles.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess project performance,
evaluate methodologies, and drive enhancements to processes, tools,
and organizational process assets to optimize project
execution.
- Oversight: Monitor high-visibility projects or those at risk of
falling behind around budgets and schedules, and support Project
Managers in managing scope and budget constraints. Additionally,
assist with identifying and implementing remediation strategies
when a project is identified as being at risk, ensuring timely
intervention and course correction.
- Thought Leadership: Champion a culture of excellence in project
management through training, workshops, and ongoing professional
development opportunities, ensuring standardized project execution
and successful outcomes.What We're Looking For:
- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of project management
experience (including 3-5+ years in a PMO position) in a software
consulting environment, with a proven track record of successfully
managing multiple software development projects.
- Technical Expertise: Strong experience in managing cloud-based
software development projects, with a robust understanding of
project management concepts, frameworks, and methodologies (e.g.,
Agile, Scrum). A Microsoft-centric background is ideal.
- Client Engagement: Prior experience managing projects for
multiple commercial clients, with a focus on building strong
relationships and delivering client satisfaction.
- Executive Presence: You excel in engaging with senior
leadership, possess excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, and have experience in a consulting environment.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, inspire
collaboration, and drive results as both an individual contributor
and team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus
on identifying risks and implementing effective solutions
proactively, including the ability to influence and drive
change.
- Change Management Expertise: Excellent change management skills
to support continuous improvement and enhance project management
maturity.
- Educational Background: A B.A./B.S. Degree in a related field,
with a commitment to continuous learning and professional
